AirNEST Instruction Manual

Set-Up and Take-Down Instructions

INFLATION

1. Unzip, Unroll and Unfold the AirNEST from the backpack.

2. Remove the AirBANK from its protective case, screw hose onto the INFLATE port. To turn on, press and hold the middle power button for three seconds.

3. Using the + button, set the PSI to 4.0 (for windy and/or cold conditions, you can set it to 5 or 6PSI) *Never inflate the tent to more than 7.0 PSI maximum*

Note: Disregard the button on the far left. That changes the reading from PSI to BAR.

4. Next, attach the AIRBANK hose (the one with the red rubber washer) to the valve located on the back right side of your AirNEST. Be sure to turn the end of the hose 90° counter clockwise before you connect it to the valve on the tent, then “screw” it on.This will ensure that the hose stays connected to the valve during inflation. Hit the power button once to begin inflation.

5. Watch your AirNEST rise to life! Inflation is a two-stage process. The first stage is volume, and once the gauge on the pump hits 0.9 PSI, the noise will change, and the pressure stage will begin. When it hits 4.0 PSI, it will automatically shut off. This should take approximately 2 minutes. You may need to “help it along” to keep air flowing through any kinks. Disconnect the hose from the valve after the tent is fully erect, put the cap onto the valve to prevent any air leakage, and place the AirBANK in the case.

*Once the tent is fully inflated, we recommend placing gear inside your tent at this stage, laying out sleeping bags, placing your stuff in the pockets, etc.

6. When you're ready to inflate the mattress, simply set the AirBANK PSI to 1.0, attach the hose to the valve on the right side of the mattress and hit the power button quickly.

Feel free to adjust the pressure in your mattress to your desired firmness by pressing slightly on the small valve nozzle to release some air.

7. Use the guylines and tent stakes provided (in the pockets of the backpack) to secure your tent. Creating a taut structure will ensure maximum efficiency in any weather conditions.

*Note: Applying a bit of "down pressure" with your hand on the top of the front and back airbeams while zipping and unzipping the doors will help ease some tension off the system and ensure a smooth and clean process.

**Please take great care of this product and it will last you a lifetime. ALWAYS make sure your AirNEST is 100% dry before you put it away. Damp tents create mold, and mold destroys tents. When dirty, clean with a warm soapy sponge and leave in the sun to dry.

DEFLATION

There are two different ways to deflate the AirNEST and pack it away for your next adventure.

The “ALL-IN-ONE” Method

If you’re on a multi-day road trip or overland adventure and you’d like to set-up and take down your tent daily, please use this method. This can be done by one person.

1. There are a total of six deflation valves on the AirNEST. (four on the tent, two on the mattress) The key to releasing air from the system is to depress each valve with your thumb and turn it 90° clockwise. This will hold the valve “open” and release all of the air. Note: The valve with a red cap is a “purge valve” that will prevent the system from overinflation in hot temperatures. When you’re ready to take the tent down, simply unscrew this cap until you hear the air escaping. You do not need to remove the cap entirely.

2. Release air from the two valves on the mattress first, followed by the four valves on the tent. Once the tent is flat, simply fold the tent in thirds placing all of the fabric in the middle, then lay on it to allow more air to escape.

3. Roll as tight as possible and place it in the backpack, then clip the two internal compression straps together, pulling to tighten. This will ensure the AirNEST is snug within the pack as a complete unit, and will also help to release more air from the system.

4. Finally, clip the two external compression straps together, then pull to tighten. We recommend stuffing the vestibule into the backpack at this time.

The “Roll & Squish” Method

If you’re planning on putting the tent away for an extended period, or if the tent is wet and you’d like to keep the mattress separate, please use this method.

1. Release the two mattress valves first. With two people, begin to tightly roll the mattress from the front entrance. The zippers should unzip as you roll the mattress from front to back. If they get stuck, simply unzip with your hands. When you get to the end and all of the air is completely “squished” out, fold the mattress in thirds and use the velcro strap to keep it together tightly.

2. Next, open all four valves on the tent. Once the tent has been deflated, simply fold the tent in thirds, then lay on it to allow more air to escape. Roll as tight as possible.

3. Place the tent in the backpack first, then the mattress along the side, and clip the two internal compression straps together, then pull to tighten. This will ensure the tent & mattress are snug within the pack as a complete unit, and will also help to release more air from the system.

4. Finally, clip the two external compression straps together, then pull to tighten. We recommend stuffing the vestibule into the backpack at this time.

NOTE: We’ve intentionally designed the backpack to be oversized, which allows for more room for the All-In-One Method.

IMPORTANT: The AIRBANK is a sophisticated piece of electronic equipment. Take care of it. Do not drop it, leave it in the rain or handle it carelessly. When not in use, keep it in the protective case at all times.

**SUPER IMPORTANT: After each use, all of the valves should remain open which will allow for any air to escape, enabling more compact storage and transportation. When you go to set up your AirNEST again, make sure ALL OF THE VALVES ARE CLOSED (this involves slightly depressing the valve “stem” by turning it 90° counter-clockwise and releasing.) If you don’t do this, the air will simply flow out of the valves and you’ll wonder why the tent isn’t inflating.
