Designing outdoor equipment without adequate in-the-field testing is a fool’s errand. Mother Nature throws too many variables into the mix that can’t be duplicated inside a fancy design studio or testing warehouse. Before releasing our first model to the world, we tested it in nine different countries; in hurricane-force winds, sleet, snow, tropical heat, in forests, deserts, ocean beaches and mountain meadows.
But most of our experience with tents has come from extended worldwide motorcycle journeys over the past 20+ years, where setting up and tearing down camp is a daily occurrence. After a long day in the saddle, looking ahead to the chore of setting up the tent and blowing up two air mattresses (with our mouths!) was most definitely an unwanted proposition. If only there was a better/quicker/more efficient solution?
“Do work that is heroic, that staggers the marketplace by the quality of its originality as well as the helpfulness it provides.”
