Camp Smarter, Not Harder… Here’s How
A few simple tips that’ll save your weekend—and your sanity.
You’ve made it out of the city with a cooler full of bevvies and too probably much food.
But before you crack a cold one—camp setup comes first. And if you’re anything like us, you’ve probably had a few “Why is this taking so bloody long?” moments.
So here’s a quick list of tips to help you camp smarter and spend more time enjoying the good stuff:
- Pre-pack by activity – Cooking gear in one bin, sleep gear in another. Labelled. Trust us, future you will thank you. Our friends at RUX have many good solutions for you.
- Keep a camp checklist – Not a boring one. A real one. One that says “You forgot the headlamp last time!”
- Leave the mystery gear at home – If you haven’t used it in 3 trips, ditch it. Purge for your sanity people!
- Test your setup in your backyard first – Especially if it’s your first trip of the season. This will save you LOADS of time at camp and will help you figure out what's missing.
-
Choose a shelter that actually respects your time
Skip the 30-minute setup and find a tent that takes minutes, not migraines. (Spoiler: we know one 😉) - Make tear down easy for next time – Dry everything when you get home. Tents HATE to be put away wet.
You don’t need mountains of gear and a master’s degree in knot-tying to have a great camp weekend.

Things we’ve learned the hard way, so you don’t have to.
